Here I am on the morning of the Total Solar Eclipse that spanned the entire United States on August 21st, 2017. I felt such peace and awe.
How freeing it is to remember that there are grand rhythms, cycles, and transitions continuously unfolding in the cosmos.
Man, does that perspective make the rhythms, cycles, and transitions of my own life feel so miraculously manageable.
Although it's liberating to remember that my daily life is but a speck in the grand scheme of things here on earth, I also feel the gravity of how precious and fleeting my time is.
So I'm devoted to owning my relationship with time. I'm devoted to spending my time on the stuff that matters most to me.

This is a concept and way of being that I've cultivated, practiced, and taught over this past decade of mothering and supporting women through the intersection of family life, work, and honoring your passions.

Find your Desired Life Rhythm (DLR)
DLR is all about claiming what it is that you most want to nurture in yourself and others, and then quite literally making more space and time for that vision in your daily and weekly rhythms.
What does living your Desired Life Rhythm do for you?
You find yourself more calm, centered, and clear.
Your nervous system is no longer on high alert. You find yourself more rested and present.
You are more nourished, confident, and in touch with your unique gifts because you're no longer ruled by a 'to-do list' that is filled with tasks that aren't aligned with your core values and high priorities.
There is so much more to this way of being (like bringing ritual back into your life around seasonal celebrations and the moon cycle!!!!) but the perfect place to begin is your morning routine.
Reimagine, Return to, & Refine a morning routine that nurtures you throughout your day
- Reimagine -- How does your morning routine feel right now? If you don't feel nourished, centered, and enlivened by your daily morning experience, grab a pen and paper and take a few minutes to illustrate for yourself your ideal vision of your morning routine.
- How do you desire to feel when you wake up?
- What is the first thing you desire to do upon rising?
- What do you see around you that inspires you to be your highest self?
- What grounds you or lights you up at the start of your day?
Bring in all of your senses and "paint the picture" of your ideal morning routine.
- Return -- Make a simple plan that will help you take the first doable steps to cultivating this morning routine.
If you see yourself having time alone to meditate, drink your coffee, and journal before the kids wake up begin with whichever piece of your vision is MOST doable. Maybe begin with 5 minutes to journal, brain dump your morning fog, and get clear on what you're grateful for so that gratitude can be the energy with which you begin your day.
From that first step, be grounded in the expansiveness of your ideal vision and take practical steps, week by week, to build and sustain this vision moving forward.
- Refine -- Whenever you're making change, it's important to be devoted to your vision yet unattached to the "perfect" outcome arriving in the exact way you thought it would.
With this in mind, I encourage you to work on cultivating your morning routine over the next 4 weeks. Each week check in and ask yourself, "What is working?" Celebrate that!!!!
And then ask yourself, "What needs to be refined with my morning routine to help me get closer to my ideal vision?"
Assess, be creative and solution-oriented, and refine your morning routine as needed! (HINT: I've never really stopped doing this myself... Life is always changing so your morning routine can evolve as you do.)

Your morning routine is just the beginning.
My expansive vision for you is that you're able to create and cultivate a sacred schedule that is a YES to your desired life rhythm and a NO to all that doesn't align.
This is freedom. This is slowing down.
This is owning your relationship with time and choosing to no longer waste it away with to-do lists that fill the spaces of life that are scary to live into.
This work is both soulful and strategic. Inner and outer. Practical and expansive.
And being in rhythm is a continual practice of inquiry, listening deeply, valuing your unique gifts, daring to be visionary, and remembering to always move at a pace that nourishes you and the ones you love.
